The owners of this home have lived in their delightful Arts and Crafts home for over 40 years. In this time, the area has been rezoned as medium density. Our clients are seeking the addition of two apartments across two storeys, while preserving the existing ground level.

Sandwiched between multi residential developments on three sides, we hope to reinforce the presence of this dwelling within the streetscape while preserving its original character.

Our proposal partially conceals the top storey within a roof form that presents as an attic level, stepped back and recessive. Materials are selected in response to those already present on site, providing a contemporary reinterpretation of the retained ground level home.
